22nd May 2014

Thursday 22 May 2014, Dublin.

Speaking on the eve of polling, Green Party Leader and MEPcandidate for Dublin, Eamon Ryan, said: "I'm asking voters to look to thefuture and vote Green.

"These elections are about the future of Ireland and thefuture of Europe.

"A Green vote is one that will make a positive difference tothe daily lives of Irish people up and down the country. A Green councillorwill fight for decisions made in public, not behind closed doors. They willfight for public transport, properly planned communities and green spaces thatare safe and open to all.

"A Green vote for the European Parliament will elect candidateswho have a plan for Ireland in the wider world; who understand that theeconomic opportunities of the future lie in green food, energy and tourism, andwho will fight to bring that home.

"The voter will get MEPs who want to change Europe for thebetter and make it work for all countries not just the centre; who will tellthe Irish people the truth and fight on behalf of those left out andmarginalised by the core.

"I urge all voters to vote Green for a vibrant economy, clean power, a fairer society and a future we can all look forward to."
