Originally from a dairy farm in Effin, Co. Limerick, Gearóid is a community worker with North Tipperary LEADER. He's a co-founder of Energy Communities Tipperary Cooperative which leveraged over €4 million investment in home insulation schemes across Tipperary.
Gearóid is committed to local communities and has proven proposals on how to develop them. He believes that moving to locally owned energy will cut Tipperary’s €400 million/year oil and gas bill and improve our quality of life. "I want Tipperary to commit to an energy transition that will create investment, quality jobs and opportunities for farm diversification."
