Irish people are very aware of the climate crisis and what we must do as a country to address it. However, we often relate more strongly to information and lived experiences that are brought to life through media such as TV and radio.

Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan TD, stated;

“Irish people are very aware of the climate crisis and what we must do as a country to address it. However, we often relate more strongly to information and lived experiences that are brought to life through media such as TV and radio.

“I welcome this opportunity to collaborate with my colleague Minister Martin to bring this fund to fruition and support the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland in their commitment to demonstrate and show leadership in environmental best practice.”

Speaking at today’s launch of the Sound and Vision fund at the BAI, Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin TD stated;

“The €5m Climate Action and Climate Change funding recognises the critical role that content creators and broadcasters play in informing the public about the reality of the climate crisis and the actions that we must undertake to address it. As Deputy Leader of the Green Party, climate action has always been a top priority for me, and I am proud to deliver on this Climate Action Plan commitment.”
