I'm committed to represent those whose voices are underrepresented in politics, ensuring that everyone's needs and concerns are heard and addressed in our county.
As your representative for Birr, I will work on equal access to affordable housing, childcare, and public services for all members of our community.
Local Transport - Ireland’s growing population needs access to amenities and services. I plan to work on increasing local bus and taxi services, on enough bus stops and bike parking, and on reopening Birr's rail station. The constant traffic jams paralyse Birr town throughout the day. Birr needs a bypass road to relieve traffic.
Social Inclusion - I'm committed to giving a voice to those who are underrepresented in politics, ensuring that everyone's needs and concerns are heard and addressed in our county. I will be a voice for improved public services and infrastructure - across transport, health, education, childcare, housing, migrant integration and more.
Housing - Everyone needs a place to live. We need more housing in the area, more affordable and equally accessible. We also have over 2,000 vacant homes in Offaly. I will work with the local government to resurrect empty and derelict buildings.
Providing affordable housing, ending homelessness, and creating strong, inclusive communities are my main priorities.
Experience
Originally from Lithuania I live in Ireland for 17 years with my son. Having started my career in Advocating with Citizens Information Centre in Birr, I have more than 13 years of experience in Advocating for Human Rights and Equality.
Charing the voluntary organisation, called Immigrants Training and Advice Services, I continue to spread the knowledge on basic civil and public rights among minority groups of our community.
I am currently a member of the Board of Management of the local community school and a member of the committee of Crinkle Tidy Villages.
