My vision for the Midleton area is one where public transport is a positive choice and active citizenship is the norm.
As your representative for the Midleton LEA, I will work hard to sustain the region as a vibrant and enjoyable place to live, work and visit.
Active Travel: public transport should be affordable, reliable and regular, in all areas. I will promote the Safer Routes to School Programme along with pushing for extended bus services.
Climate-ready Communities: as we face increasingly extreme weather events, every measure must be taken to protect homes and businesses. I will work hard to prioritize future damage prevention.
Sustainable Living: we can all play an active part in tackling the biodiversity crisis in Ireland. Working together towards nature recovery can be a rewarding community based task, for all ages.
Experience
A Cork native, I grew up in Glanmire and studied History at UCC. After years living and working abroad, I returned to Ireland and now teach at UCC. I have worked in education for 20 years and am passionate about promoting youth engagement in politics and climate issues. As a mother, I am concerned about the challenges that lay ahead for future generations. The time to act is now.
